The e-Scoresheet has the option to use a backup device in case something happens with the scouter device during the game. Having a backup allows you to continue scouting the match using another device.
How to set up a backup device
1. Find a USB stick or external hard drive that can be used for this purpose.
2. Connect it to the computer.
3. Open the match in the e-Scoresheet.
4. If you use a new backup device when you open the e-Scoresheet, you will see this pop-up window after the roster set-up. Please choose the “Change Key Path” option, specify the device you want to save as a backup, and press “OK”. If it’s not appearing, please open “Options” and then the “General” tab, you’ll see the “Create backup file” option there. Now every time you connect this backup device, e-Scoresheet will recognize it and immediately start to write backups on it without asking for any additional steps or a setup.
After this setup, all data from the scouted match will also be saved as a backup on the USB stick (or other external drive you chose).
How to open a backup for a match on the other device
1. Unplug the USB stick from the main device and connect it to the backup device.
2. Open the e-Scoresheet on the other device.
3. Choose the “Restore Match” option from the main menu.
4. The e-Scoresheet will ask you to specify the backup device. Choose the device and press “Restore”.
5. Now you can continue scouting the match from the point when it was interrupted.
