Some leagues in their play-off stages use two-leg games. This is the system when in series only two games (home and away) are played and an aggregate score after the second game 4th quarter finishes is calculated. An overtime is played only when the aggregate score is tied.
That means a statistician may run into three uncommon situations:
- The 1st game 4th quarter finishes with a tied score. Since series winner is decided on two games aggregate score, the overtime in the first game is not being played.
- The 2nd game 4th quarter finishes with a tied score (for example, 75:75), but the aggregate score is not tied (167:159). The winner is decided on the aggregate score and thus there is no need to play an overtime.
- The 2nd game 4th quarter finishes with not tied score (69:72), but the aggregate score is tied (124:124). The winner is not decided on the aggregate score and thus an overtime should be played.
You can find two sections in the article and in the video below:

How to finish a tied game
When time expires in the 4th quarter, click End Quarter button:
After that a score should be confirmed:
Do not setup a next quarter as it will lead to an overtime and there is no way back. If you have already done this, run a clock to 0:00, finish the overtime and confirm a score. After that players' playing time will need to be adjusted in the Competition Management System to remove 5 minutes for each player who has started unnecessary overtime.
Instead of that go to Game menu and select Finish Match button.
In Finish Match pop-up click Yes to confirm match finish.
After you make all necessary edits, click Finalise Game button (after this action no edits can be made and a webcast will be closed).
In Finalise Game pop-up click Yes to confirm game finalization.
