Find here an explanation of the different ways and stages in which firewall settings can be configured in order for the ESS software to run smoothly at the time of updating live matches.
1. After the software has just been installed
When you first open the ESS application after installing the software, ESS will automatically check if firewall rules are set properly and, if they are not, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to repair this. All you have to do is click on the button "yes", as seen on the image below.
2. The first time a new connection is established
In this case, when running the system check, if the Windows firewall doesn't have any rule registered for ESS, it will automatically ask you to allow the connection. All you have to do is select the type of network and click on the button "allow access", as seen on the image below.
3. When performing a System Check
When a system check is executed, each check may fault according to firewall limitations. If there are firewall limitations, you will see a message explaining this. Please click on the option "show remote URLs to be added in firewall configuration" and allow ESS connection from there, as seen on the image below.
Note: The process described above can only be done for the Windows firewall and third party (McAfee, Avast, some antivirus have their own firewall which overrides the Windows one and etc.). Firewalls can't be configured automatically or rules added for this, so it is up to you to configure them.
